Perplexity.ai is now looking for an LLM Research Engineer to adapt state-of-the-art LLMs and develop the world's best AI search (right now they’re in top 5!).
- It’s a search interface built on top of LLMs that answers questions with links and citations;
- Millions of active users monthly within just six months of release;
- $26 million raised in the latest funding round from investors like Yann LeCun, Nat Friedman, and many others.
The key requirement for this role is extensive experience with large language and DL models.
Experience with distributed systems and/or a PhD in machine learning isn't necessary, but definitely a plus!

The Head of AI is a key role: you will not only lead cutting-edge research but also turn models into great products, make strategic decisions affecting the future of the company, and mentor a very strong team. Challenging? Yes. Fun? Yes!
Requirements are the following:
☄️ 3+ years managing world-class research teams;
☄️ Experience in both researching and deploying frontier tech — such as LLMs, image diffusion, etc.
☄️ Citations or publications in major industry journals and/or conferences
Good old startup vibes - small team, lots of work, lots of responsibility, lots of money.
The position is remote-first, but they can help with relocation to the UAE (easier) or Canada (a bit more complicated). They pay $180k-350k + significant equity package.
